Game 1 vs Wednesbury Town
What a fantastic game of football! The boys were absolutely brilliant from the first whistle, full of confidence and completely on top of their opponents’ game plan. Some lovely passing, excellent success rate with through-balls and a real cutting edge in the final third made for a joy to watch.
We were treated to some phenomenal finishing: Asher, Charlie A and Reece were all on fire. Asher calmly slotted home after a great ball from Nathan, Charlie A bagged a brilliant brace (one set up by Nathan, the other by Oliver), and Reece grabbed two of his own, including one assisted by Charlie A. A superb team performance – every single player contributed to a well-deserved victory.
Game 2 vs NexGen
Another hugely competitive match. Unfortunately the opposition’s very vocal (and at times harsh) touchline coaching affected the lads and they felt under intense pressure for long spells. Despite that, they dug in deep, kept trying to play the right way and showed real character.
Charlie A was unstoppable again, scoring two absolute crackers to give us the lead twice, only for NexGen to fight back late on for a draw. A hard-fought point that felt like a learning curve, but the boys can be proud of how they stuck at it.
🏆 Parents’ Player of the Match: Charlie A
His best performance I’ve ever seen – simply outstanding. Two world-class goals in the second game on top of his brace in the first. So proud of him!
🏆 Managers’ Player of the Match: Reece
Fearless in front of goal, brilliant skill for both of his finishes and always looking to make things happen. A massive display.
A special mention to Eddie on his very first match day as goalkeeper – he was excellent and gave everyone huge confidence at the back.
Huge credit to every player – the level of football this group is producing right now is incredible. A massive thank you to Mark and Philip Morse for their fantastic work in training and on match days. The progress is there for all to see.
Brilliant morning, lads – keep it going!
