Rushall Village FC is expanding its grassroots programme and seeking to appoint a dedicated Club Welfare Officer (CWO) to help shape and safeguard the future of our junior football setup. This voluntary role is central to our mission of providing safe, inclusive, and inspiring football experiences for children in our community.

⚽ THE ROLE

With the full support of the Rushall Village FC Committee, the Club Welfare Officer will:

  • Champion safeguarding and child welfare across all club activities
  • Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing are the club’s top priority
  • Review and strengthen current safeguarding practices
  • Promote safeguarding awareness and training for all volunteers
  • Foster a culture of listening to and empowering young people
  • Oversee safer recruitment procedures, including DBS checks

📋 ROLE REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will either hold or be willing to complete the following FA-accredited qualifications. Rushall Village FC will cover all associated costs and provide full support:

  • FA-approved DBS check
  • FA Safeguarding Children Workshop
  • FA Safeguarding for Committee Members (online)
  • FA Welfare Officer Workshop
  • Commitment to the FA Welfare Officer Code of Conduct

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Prioritises the welfare of children above all else
  • Communicates clearly and compassionately
  • Applies common sense and sound judgement
  • Is open to learning and seeking guidance
  • Is over 18 and approachable to children and adults alike
  • Has experience working with or supporting children
  • Can handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
  • Has basic administrative skills (e.g. managing confidential records)
  • Understands or is willing to learn about grassroots football
