Game 1: Rushall Village vs. CS Colts

First up was CS Colts, sitting top of the league, having won every game so far. Rushall started incredibly strong, matching them in every area and showing great energy all over the pitch.

Our high pressing forced an early own goal, and soon after, a quick counter-attack led to a penalty, which Harlen calmly slotted home. The confidence was flowing, and relentless attacking pressure saw Harlen grab his second goal – a true poacher’s finish from a loose ball inside the box.

CS Colts showed their quality late on, with two excellent goals from their talented strikers, including a superb 20-yard free kick that Oscar had no chance of stopping. Despite the result, it was a fantastic performance full of determination and attacking intent from Rushall Village.

Game 2: Rushall Village vs. DMC

Next up was DMC Monaco, second in the league, with wins against everyone except CS Colts. Rushall continued their strong form, competing for every ball, defending bravely, and creating plenty of attacking moments.

DMC took the lead in the first half through a shot that somehow made its way through a packed penalty area, passing an unsighted keeper to sneak into the net. The boys didn’t let their heads drop – they came out fighting in the second half and earned another penalty, which unfortunately struck just the wrong side of the post.

Special credit goes to Oscar, who made several brave stops and produced an outstanding diving save to his bottom corner right at the end of the match. Even DMC’s coaches commented on how much Rushall Village have improved since the last meeting – a huge testament to the players’ effort and progress.

Parents’ Player of the Match: Harlen – for non-stop battling through midfield into attack, showing brilliant energy and composure to score two well-deserved goals.

Manager’s Player of the Match: Oscar – for a very strong performance across both games, coming off his line bravely, commanding his area, and pulling off a superb save in the final moments.

Two really tough tests against unbeaten teams, and the lads were outstanding in both.

The focus was on performance, and every single player can be proud – huge improvement all round.

The team is definitely heading in the right direction.
