It was a wet one today, but that didn’t stop the boys from delivering two fantastic performances filled with effort, teamwork and determination. Despite tricky conditions, Rushall Village showed real character across both games and gave us plenty of reasons to be proud.
Game 1: Rushall Village vs Cresswell Wanderers
The opening fixture against Cresswell was a tightly contested battle from start to finish. Both teams worked hard in the rain, and the first half saw Rushall defend with discipline and communicate well across the pitch. Their shape held firm, and several key interceptions kept the opposition at bay.
The second half continued in similar fashion, with little separating the sides until Cresswell broke the deadlock with a goal out of nowhere. Rushall responded with attacking intent, pushing players forward in search of an equaliser. Unfortunately, as the team committed bodies upfield, Cresswell found space and added a second with a well-taken strike.
Although the result didn’t reflect the effort, the boys showed resilience and discipline throughout. A real credit to their attitude in challenging conditions.
Game 2: Rushall Village vs Pelsall Villa Colts Aces
The second match saw a brilliant response from Rushall Village. The team came out with energy and confidence, dominating across the pitch. The defence was outstanding, clearing every threat with composure and organisation. Oscar in goal had little to do thanks to the tireless work of the back line.
In attack, Rushall created a stream of chances and eventually converted their dominance into goals. Chester was clinical with two sharp finishes, showing great movement and awareness in the box. Joey added a superb strike to cap off a commanding team performance, linking play beautifully and driving forward with purpose.
This was a complete display from the boys. Confident, cohesive and full of the qualities they’ve been developing in training.
