This weekend’s fixture was a true game of two halves. The first half showcased some of the best football we’ve played all season- fluid teamwork, clear patterns of play, and confident finishing. The players moved the ball with purpose, linking up beautifully across the pitch and demonstrating the progress they’ve made in training. It was a joy to watch, with build-up play that reflected real understanding and cohesion.

The second half, however, brought a different challenge. The opposition made tactical changes that unsettled our rhythm, and we struggled at times to regain control. A dip in discipline and focus allowed the other team to apply pressure, but credit to our players – they showed real grit and determination to stay in the game and keep pushing until the final whistle.

Manager’s Player of the Match: Christine: Christine once again proved that impact isn’t measured by minutes played. Whether starting or coming off the bench, she made her presence felt with fearless tackles and growing confidence. Her willingness to battle for the ball and support her teammates is becoming a hallmark of her game, and it’s fantastic to see her development week by week.

Parents’ Player of the Match: Oscar: Oscar had an excellent all-round performance. He listens, learns, and always tries to apply feedback to improve his game. His effort and attitude were outstanding, and his contribution in attack was a highlight of the day. It was clear how much it meant to him, and he thoroughly deserved the recognition.

Trainer of the Week: Leo: Leo has recently returned from injury and is working incredibly hard to get back to full strength. His commitment in training has been superb, and he’s beginning to translate that effort into his match performances. It’s great to see his confidence building and his game evolving.

A huge well done to the entire team for their first-half performance – it was a real statement of how far they’ve come. Even when changes were needed, they adapted with maturity and resilience. The spirit, effort, and togetherness on display are what make this team so special.
