U7s Match Report: Grit, Growth, and Glimpses of Brilliance

Our U7s took to the pitch again this morning for two challenging fixtures that tested their resilience, teamwork, and character. Compared to last week, the opposition posed a much sterner test – but the boys responded with heart and determination throughout.

Game One vs DMC Roma We kicked off against a very strong DMC Roma side who dominated possession early on and kept us pinned in our own half for long spells. Despite the pressure, our boys battled bravely, throwing themselves into tackles and trying to find ways to break out. The first half was tough, but the second half saw a spirited response. Harlen produced a brilliant solo run to score on the counter, showing great pace and composure. Chester followed up with a superbly struck free kick that flew into the net – two moments of real quality that lifted the team and gave the supporters something to cheer. Though the result didn’t go our way, the boys never stopped working and showed fantastic character until the final whistle.

Game Two vs Wolves Spartans After a short break, we faced Wolves Spartans in what began as a tightly contested match. The boys regrouped well and started brightly, with Chester grabbing his second goal of the morning after a clever attacking move. The first half was evenly matched, with both sides pressing and defending with intensity. However, after three demanding halves of football, fatigue began to show. We lost a bit of shape and focus in the final period, which allowed the opposition to find space and take control. Despite the setback, the boys continued to give their all and showed great sportsmanship throughout.
