Our U6 squad took to the pitch for another trio of exciting Summer League fixtures this morning, continuing their development with great spirit, teamwork, and determination.
Game 1 vs Barnhurst North The first match proved a thrilling encounter, with both sides playing at full intensity. Despite a narrow 6–5 loss, the result didn’t reflect the balance of play. We struck the woodwork on multiple occasions and forced several goal-line clearances, showing attacking intent from the outset. The boys played with confidence, creativity, and no shortage of bravery in front of goal—resulting in a flurry of well-earned finishes. It was a game decided by the finest of margins.
Game 2 vs All Stars Our second outing was against one of the strongest sides in the age group. Despite a 3–0 defeat, the squad produced a valiant defensive performance, absorbing pressure while remaining disciplined and organised. The back line and goalkeeper worked tirelessly to keep chances to a minimum, and we created a couple of solid opportunities ourselves. The boys showed resilience and a fantastic team ethic throughout, earning plenty of praise from coaches and spectators alike.
Game 3 vs Barnhurst South We ended the morning on a high with a commanding 6–3 win, perhaps our most complete display of the day. The team played with excellent structure and intensity, moving the ball quickly and pressing high. A clinical attacking performance saw six goals shared across the squad, with some superb individual strikes and excellent teamwork in the build-up. It was a wonderful way to round off a competitive block of matches and build momentum as preparations continue for the upcoming league season.
Player of the Match Awards This week’s honours went to two players who truly embodied the club’s values. One was recognised for a tireless display full of courage, effort, and a well-deserved goal. The other stood out once again for their consistently balanced and high-quality performance across all three games.
