Second week together as a brand-new team, and this time we faced two much tougher opponents than last week. Our main focus was seeing the boys put into games what we’ve been working on in training – and despite the challenging results, there were some really encouraging signs!
🆚 Game 1 vs Creswell (Played with just 4 players – one man down)
We started brightly with an early shot on target that forced a good save. The passing and movement was excellent – the lads linked up beautifully, moving the ball up the pitch with some lovely one-touch play.
The highlight was a fantastic team goal: quick passes the length of the pitch, everyone involved, finished calmly by Rio – a proper moment to be proud of! 👏
Koby (stepping in as goalkeeper today) made some brave saves, coming off his line well to pressure the strikers. Tommy had his best game yet – getting stuck in, tackling strongly and passing confidently. Freddie was full of energy, tackling hard and using the ball just like we’ve practised.
Everyone gave 100% with brilliant teamwork on show – exactly what we wanted to see!
🆚 Game 2 vs West Brom All-Stars
Morale was naturally a bit low after the first game, and we came up against a very strong, well-organised side. The boys found it hard to get much possession, but in fairness the opposition were more experienced and clinical.
We still battled away, winning the ball back several times and clearing danger well – great effort throughout.
🏆 Manager’s Player of the Match Rio – covered every blade of grass, scored our only goal (a superb team effort), and never stopped working to win the ball back and drive us forward. Outstanding attitude!
Tough morning results-wise, but for such a new group this was another valuable step forward. The passing, teamwork and effort in spells – especially in that first game – showed exactly what this team is capable of as we keep building.
Massive well done to all the boys – heads up, keep working hard in training, and we’ll keep improving together! 🟠⚫💪
