Rushall Village 3 – 4 CS Colts
Our U14s bowed out of the MJPL Cup on Saturday in a thrilling quarter final against a talented CS Colts side. It was a competitive and entertaining game that showed both the best and worst of our team.
The first half was frustrating. The boys looked off the pace, lazy in their positioning and lacking the intensity and intent we’ve come to expect. Despite the poor performance, we managed to keep a clean sheet and went into half-time 0-0.
The second half started in nightmare fashion as CS Colts scored two quick goals inside the opening minutes, putting us firmly on the back foot. However, the lads showed real character and fighting spirit. They refused to roll over and quickly pulled a goal back to make it 2-1.
Colts responded with another goal, but once again our boys dug deep and equalised for a second time. The game was wide open and end-to-end, with both teams going for the win.
With only five minutes remaining, CS Colts scored the decisive goal to make it 4-3. In the dying moments we threw everyone forward for a last corner, but it wasn’t to be.
Final Score: Rushall Village 3 – 4 CS Colts
While the result is disappointing, there were clear positives to take from the game — most notably the resilience and never-give-up attitude shown after falling behind. The first-half performance wasn’t good enough, and that will be the main area we focus on in training this week.
Well done to CS Colts on their victory and progression.
A big thank you to all the parents and supporters who came out to back the team.
On to the next one.
