Full Match Report – U11 Raiders
It was a tricky morning for the U11 Raiders at Bentley on a very bobbly, long-grass pitch with almost non-existent lines.
We started brightly with good movement and took the lead after just a few minutes – Isaac won the ball and played a great pass through to Alfie, who finished calmly to make it 1-0.
Unfortunately, after the early goal the lads seemed to switch off. The difficult pitch conditions caused several awkward bounces, and we conceded 4 goals before half-time.
The second half started in similar fashion, with the opposition scoring 4 quick goals through strong pressing attacks. For a long period we struggled to get a foothold in the game.
However, in the last 15 minutes the Raiders finally clicked. The passing started to link up, movement improved, and we began to play some proper football.
Final score: 8-1 defeat.
While the result was disappointing, it doesn’t reflect the effort and ability shown by the whole squad – especially in that last 15 minutes. A tough day on a difficult pitch, but plenty of positives to take into next week.
