What an entertaining game of football from the U11 Mixed boys against Lane Head!
We started strongly, playing some lovely one-touch and two-touch football that really broke through the lines and created plenty of dangerous chances. It was brilliant to give debuts to George and Henry — both lads settled in straight away and played really well from the first whistle.
Lion was on fire with two fantastic assists for Logan B, who has clearly been loving his new role up top. He was dropping his shoulder, beating defenders with ease and showing great composure to finish with three brilliant goals.
One moment that made me especially proud came when Logan B won a penalty — instead of taking it himself, he unselfishly passed it over to Logan P, who calmly slotted it home! Logan P’s confidence then grew even more and he went on to grab a second goal later in the match.
After a few changes we had a couple of defensive mix-ups that let Lane Head back into the game, leading to some exciting end-to-end football. But overall it was a really positive team performance with great moments right across the pitch.
Parents Player of the Match – Logan P 🥇 Logan had an excellent all-round game — great passing, intelligent movement off the ball, a confident penalty and a well-taken second goal to finish with two for the day. Superb effort!
Coach’s Player of the Match – Keason 💪 Keason put in a very strong performance. He started in goal with a solid first half, becoming more vocal and showing good distribution. In the second half he played in defence for the very first time ever and looked confident on the ball, getting it out wide and linking up brilliantly alongside Mason and behind Leo in central midfield.
Two games back this season and two positive wins — long may it continue! Every single player worked hard for the team, used their voices and showed fantastic team spirit both on and off the pitch.
Well done to the whole squad – keep up the great work lads!
