Another really strong team performance from the lads today!
We mixed up positions again and the boys responded brilliantly, combining some lovely one-touch and two-touch football. The first goal came from a well-worked move, while the second was a superb long-range lob over the keeper.
The team showed excellent discipline, worked hard for each other and covered when needed. We switched off for a moment and conceded one goal, but the lads kept their heads up. After a few positional changes, we regained control of the game. The third goal was another excellent team move, finished nicely by Foden (who had a superb game before picking up an injury).
We saw the game out with good possession and composure. In the very last seconds the opposition hit us on the break, but George pulled off a fantastic one-on-one save and launched the ball long as the whistle went.
Final result: 3-1 win ✅
🏆 Parents’ Player of the Match – Oscar. Oscar was outstanding all game. Asked to lead the defence in the second half, he was disciplined, organised the back line perfectly and topped it off with a brilliant long-range goal.
🏆 Managers’ Player of the Match – Aali. Aali grew in confidence throughout the game. Starting in CDM, he was strong and aggressive, then moved to the right where he combined well in attack and grabbed his first assist of the season. A really positive performance.
This was the fourth time we’ve played this team – after three draws, we finally got the win we deserved. A confident and comfortable team performance all round.
Well done lads! 👏⚽
