⭐ Swifts U7s – Trophy Event Round 2 ⭐
An early start for our second round of trophy games – and the boys were right at it from the first whistle 👏
🆚 Huntington Harriers
The game began as a close contest, but with fantastic shape and teamwork we started to take control early. This was arguably the best football we’ve seen so far in terms of holding positions and playing creatively.
After sustained pressure and a lovely string of three passes, Joey found himself 1v1 and calmly slotted into the bottom corner to give us a deserved lead.
We carried that quality into the second half. Huntington defended bravely and worked hard to keep us out, but more excellent play through midfield created another opportunity for Joey, who was brought down in the box. The referee had no hesitation pointing to the spot.
As always, whoever wins it takes it — and Joey smashed the penalty into the top corner with real confidence ⚽️🔥
Every single player played their part in a very well-earned 2–0 win.

🆚 Walsall Wood
Another tough game against a side full of strong individuals and determined defenders. Once again, the lads showed real maturity, sticking to their roles and working tirelessly for one another.
The first half was evenly matched, with us playing the kind of controlled football we’ve been working towards. The breakthrough came in spectacular fashion when Chester reacted first to a loose ball, spotted the keeper off his line, and smashed a stunning effort high over him from just behind the halfway line 🚀⚽️
Walsall Wood managed to equalise just before half time, and the second half remained competitive. We created the clearer chances and were unlucky not to find a winner, but it finished 1–1.
Goal: Chester ⚽️
🏆 Player Awards 🏆
Parents’ Player: Naeto 🌟
Always strong on the ball, but today he added real composure and picked out some excellent passes after powerful runs. Unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet.
Manager’s Player: Joey 👏
Another outstanding all-round performance — skill on the ball, intelligent movement off it, two excellent goals, and even a brilliant diving save while in goal that earned applause from the opposition coaches 🧤
👏 Final Thoughts
Similar to last week, we’re extremely proud of the continued improvement. Another win and an unlucky draw, but more importantly the performances are reaching a new level.
Brilliant football once again — well done everyone 👏🏼⚽️🧡
