Swifts U7s – Matchday Report ⭐
Two excellent performances this morning 🧡⚽️
vs Walsall Wood
The boys produced one of their best collective performances of the season. From the first whistle they showed excellent controlled passing — stringing together 3, 4 and even 5 positive passes at a time — and created several good chances in the first half.
The second half was even better. The work rate, speed of play and intensity went up another level. We completely dominated the game, but unfortunately conceded from their only real chance of the match — a long clearance that caught us out.
The final few minutes were incredible. Total dominance with wave after wave of attacks, beautiful passing and movement, but despite chance after chance and some great saves from the opposition keeper, we just couldn’t find the equaliser.
A game where the performance was outstanding — one of those days where the result didn’t reflect how well the lads played.
vs AP Football Academy
A tough test against a new side who were quick, skilful and very physical. They took an early lead, but the response from our boys was brilliant. They stood up to the challenge, showed real character and looked after each other throughout — brilliant team spirit even when the game got aggressive.
Chester drove us forward and scored two excellent goals to turn the game around before half-time. In the second half it was a proper battle, but the lads kept competing and trying to play the right way.
Chester came very close to a hat-trick with a beautifully struck free-kick that smashed against the crossbar. Cole was outstanding at the back with important blocks and produced a brilliant diving fingertip save late on to help secure the win.
A fully deserved victory against a strong opponent.
Player Awards 🏆
Parents’ Player – Cole 🌟 Superb in both games. Did all the basics really well outfield in the first match and followed it up with some fantastic goalkeeping in the second, including a crucial late save. Top contribution!
Manager’s Player – Chester 👏 Another brilliant all-round display. Scored two great goals, linked up play nicely, and showed exactly the type of final passes we’ve been working on. Outstanding.
Final Thoughts 💭 One of those mornings where you’re left wondering how we didn’t win the first game! But overall we couldn’t be prouder of the lads. Two very strong performances full of quality, effort, passing, and real teamwork.
Well done Swifts — keep it up! 🧡⚽️
