Rushall Village Football Club logo with survey results for March 2026.

Over the last few days we have been asking for your feedback through our internal membership survey. This, alongside our external survey to people in the local community that will be directly affected by us in Rushall and Bloxwich has provided some fantastic results and insights that we are very proud to have seen and received. So, we want to share those results with you our conclusions:

How familiar are you with our current name Rushall Village Football Club and what it stands for?

Very familiar: 55.56%
Somewhat familiar: 40.74%
Not very familiar: 3.70%

Conclusion:
We will evaluate our values and our overall goals and include them in our new Membership Pack so that our members are fully aware of what we aim to achieve.

What nickname or identity do you think the club could build around? (e.g. “The Wanderers”, “The Phoenix”, “The Abbey Boys” etc.)

Conclusion:
The name ‘The Miners’ was mentioned several times during the consultation. It pays tribute to the area’s rich mining history and serves as a respectful nod to the old pub that once stood on the site of the current Rushall doctor’s surgery.

As a result, regardless of the individual team names chosen, the overall nickname for the club will now be ‘The Miners’.

We will also continue to review our work in the community and explore ways to expand and strengthen our offering.

What story or history would you like the club to be known for in 5 – 10 years’ time?

Click the image to be able to zoom in and see the words that have been shared.

Conclusion:
Every piece of feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. It beautifully highlighted our grassroots roots and showed how we are growing into a club that people are genuinely proud to be part of.

It’s clear that our name and badge are becoming well known in the grassroots football community for doing things the right way. We love that – and we’re incredibly proud of it.

We LOVE our current kits (Navy and Orange) but what are your thoughts on keeping the same colours if we were to rebrand?

Keep our current colours: 52.38%
I don’t mind either way: 33.33%
Change the colours: 14.29%

Conclusion:
Our orange kit proudly sticks to our roots – a direct homage to the heritage of Rushall itself.

Our navy kit represents the next chapter in our journey. Navy symbolises strength, depth, resilience, and professionalism – reflecting how we have grown from our grassroots beginnings into a more established, ambitious club. It also gives us a strong, modern identity that complements our orange heritage kit and allows us to stand out with real presence on match days. We will continue to use these as our official colours.

Is there anything else you’d like to say about the name, identity, or future direction of the club?

Some quotes received below:

“As a coach, I was recently setting up training when I got chatting to a coach from another club’s U14s team. He immediately recognised our club badge, mentioned our new ground, and asked how things were going. It was a really nice moment – a clear sign that our name and badge are already becoming recognisable within the local football community.”

“It’s important that we preserve the strong community feel and identity the club already has, while continuing to grow and improve. Expanding is positive, but keeping our supportive, family-friendly environment must always remain our top priority. We should also keep building clear pathways for players at all levels – offering opportunities for those who want to progress competitively, as well as for those who simply want to enjoy playing football.”

“Many people have already recognised Rushall Village through our social media presence and local radio coverage. The name has come a very long way since we started, and other clubs at matches are now talking about our team and the hard work that has gone into rebuilding the club.”

“Changing the name would risk losing the identity and development we have already achieved with Rushall. Many clubs play at grounds well outside their actual area, so there is no need to change our name. We should continue building on the Rushall Village name and, if needed in the future, simply add new grounds rather than limiting ourselves to one location.”

“The name “Rushall” works perfectly for chants – it’s short, breaks down into two easy syllables, and the boys have already done the name justice.”

“Loved being part of this club, my son has had the best season and improved so much and most importantly enjoyed it, I trust the coaching staff to make the right decisions for the club, kids and parents.”
“Keep doing what we are doing & it will grow naturally through the ethos we all have”
“Up the Rushall”

Overall survery conclusion:

We have carefully reviewed the overwhelming feedback received over the past few days. After several hours of collating, evaluating, and discussing everything between the Trustees, we have reached a clear decision on the future direction of our community club.

We are proud to confirm that we will remain Rushall Village Football Club, keeping our current crest with no changes.

We will now take all your valuable suggestions on board to improve our Member Packs and shape the overall direction of both our youth and upcoming adult teams.

Finally, from the 2026 season onwards, we will be adopting our new club ethos: One Club, One Community.

Please note that the survey will remain open until 26th March 2026 for any further feedback on the direction you would like to see the club take.
