At Rushall Village FC, we’re proud to announce that we’ll be taking part in the upcoming Silent Support Weekend on 15–16 November 2025, a national initiative led by England Football.

This special weekend is all about giving young players the chance to find their voice on the pitch, make their own decisions, and enjoy the game without distractions from the sidelines. By lowering the noise, we raise the game.

What is Silent Support?
Silent Support encourages spectators to step back from shouting instructions or constant commentary during matches. Instead, parents, carers, and supporters are invited to:

  • Applaud good play: Celebrate effort and skill with claps, not calls.
  • Offer quiet encouragement: Coaches can give calm, supportive guidance when needed.
  • Give players space: Allow them to think, decide, and grow in confidence.
  • Everything else – the shouting, the sideline coaching, the pressure – takes the weekend off.

Why It Matters
For young players, football is more than just a game. It’s a chance to learn teamwork, resilience, and independence. Silent Support helps them:

  • Build confidence by making their own decisions.
  • Develop communication with teammates on the pitch.
  • Enjoy the game without feeling overwhelmed by outside voices.
  • By creating a calmer environment, we empower children to take ownership of their football journey.

How You Can Get Involved
We invite all parents, carers, and supporters to join us in embracing Silent Support. Here’s how you can help make the weekend a success:

  • Respect the silence: Hold back from giving instructions or shouting.
  • Celebrate with applause: Show appreciation for effort and teamwork.
  • Encourage positively: Keep words supportive, simple, and uplifting.
  • Together, we can create a matchday atmosphere that truly belongs to the players.

Looking Ahead
Silent Support isn’t just about one weekend – it’s about shaping the future of grassroots football. By participating, Rushall Village FC is reaffirming our commitment to respect, inclusion, and player development.

We’re excited to see our teams take to the pitch with confidence, and we thank our community for supporting this important initiative.

Silent Support Weekend takes place on 15–16 November 2025, with another scheduled for 14–15 March 2026.
