Rushall Village FC U7s Match Report
Weekend Mini Soccer Action – Learning, Effort & Smiles All Round
Our U7s showed great heart and kept pushing through a challenging morning against two strong opponents in the Walsall Junior Youth League mini soccer format. At this age, it’s all about building confidence, trying new things, learning from every moment, and most importantly — having fun on the pitch. The boys gave it their all, and we’re super proud of their attitude and willingness to keep going!
Game 1 – Vs Walsall Phoenix Titans
It was a tough start to the day — the lads found it hard to settle early on, with focus and positioning proving tricky against a sharp Titans side. They struggled a bit to find their usual energy and shape, but there were plenty of bright spots: some excellent tackles to win the ball back, tidy passing to move it forward, and brave runs into attacking areas creating real danger. We had several near misses and good chances that showed the quality is there — it just didn’t quite drop for us today. The boys stayed positive, supported each other, and kept trying right until the end. A real test, but one we’ll learn loads from!
Game 2 – Vs Norton Canes Cobras
The second game followed a similar pattern — the morning’s efforts left the group looking a little tired, and we lost shape too easily at times, making it hard to keep possession against a quick and organised Cobras team. They punished any lapses, but our boys never stopped battling: chasing back, closing down, and working hard to regain the ball. There were moments of great individual effort and teamwork — the determination to keep going was brilliant to see. Not our smoothest performance, but the resilience and smiles throughout showed real character.
Not our best day on the pitch, and the lads recognised that themselves — which is a sign of how much they’re growing and understanding the game. But what mattered most was seeing them enjoy it, stay positive, and play with big smiles regardless of the challenges. That’s the mini soccer spirit at Rushall Village FC! We’ll reset in training, work on focus, positioning, energy management, and keeping shape — and come back even stronger and more excited next weekend.
