⚫🟠 Rushall Village U7s – Matchday Report 🟠⚫

What a morning of growth and effort from the boys! After last week’s positives, we asked them to build on that — and they absolutely stepped up in so many ways.

1st Game: vs Brownhills

We started brightly and carried that energy right through. The lads passed the ball really well, found good spaces, made clever runs off the ball, and supported each other brilliantly as a team — exactly what we’ve been practising.

A highlight in the first half came when Rio won the ball back cleanly, drove forward strongly, and was fouled just outside the area. He stepped up confidently for the free kick and struck it with real power and accuracy high into the net — a super strike to reward his determination! ⚽️

The second half followed the same positive pattern: the boys kept putting our training into action, staying organised, moving the ball patiently, and creating opportunities. When we were awarded a penalty for handball, Dhillon showed great composure to step up and score his very first goal for the club — a brilliant, well-struck finish that had everyone cheering! ⚽️ Moments later, Rio showed his speed again, winning a race to the ball against the defender before calmly slotting it home to cap off another strong team move. ⚽️

Every single player contributed something special — from solid defending to creative passing and tireless running. It was a real team performance full of progress, confidence, and smiles.

Goal scorers: Rio (2), Dhillon (1) ⚽️⚽️⚽️

2nd Game: vs Sporting Khalsa

We mixed things up for this one, starting with a different line-up and giving some boys a chance to try new positions to help their development — great for long-term growth, even if it takes time to settle.

It was a tougher start: we struggled a bit to find our rhythm early on, made a few uncharacteristic mistakes, and lost our usual shape, which made things challenging. The opposition were sharp and took their chances well from those moments.

But the boys showed real character in the second half! We adjusted back closer to our familiar set-up, improved our positioning and passing, and started to create better chances. There were some lovely passages of play, strong tackles, and determined runs forward — plenty of encouraging signs that they’ll take forward.

A frustrating one in parts, but full of valuable lessons about staying focused, communicating, and bouncing back quickly. The effort never dropped, and that’s what matters most at this age.

Player Highlights:

Dhillon was outstanding with his non-stop work rate, energy all over the pitch, and that massive moment with his first-ever goal — a proud day for him!

Koby put in a huge shift defensively in the second game, winning balls back and driving forward with power — strong, brave, and always positive.

🏆 Player Awards 🏆

Parents’ Player of the Match: Dhillon 🌟 Fantastic attitude, tireless running, and a memorable first goal — brilliant all-round contribution.

Managers’ Player of the Match: Koby 💛 Rock solid at the back when needed, great energy going forward, and real leadership in tough moments.

🟠⚫ Final Thoughts 🟠⚫

We played some really good, confident football in three of the four halves today — full of the passing, teamwork, and application we’ve been working on. The one tricky half taught us important lessons about concentration and shape, but the boys handled it maturely and came back stronger.

Focus on the positives (and there were loads!), learn from the rest, and keep enjoying it — massive well done to every single one of them. Onward and upward, Rushall Village U7s! ⚽️🟠⚫
