A hard-fought and well-earned 4-3 win today for our U14s! ⚽💪
There were some really encouraging moments where the lads showed exactly what they’re capable of: sharp movement off the ball, quick passing, strong support play, and real confidence when pushing forward. In those spells, we moved the ball quickly, looked dominant, and caused the opposition plenty of problems. The quality is clearly there in this group.
That said, we made things tougher for ourselves at times with unforced errors—misplaced passes, slow reactions to second balls, and lapses in shape that gifted chances. Defensively, we needed to be more switched on with better communication and organisation to stay in control rather than reacting. Going forward, we had good ideas and positive runs, but the final ball or decision didn’t always match the build-up.
The big positive? When we get the basics right and maintain that intensity for the full 90, we can produce the kind of football we showed in flashes today. Consistency is the focus now – nailing the fundamentals, staying disciplined, and working hard for each other across the pitch. If we do that, stronger performances will follow.
Massive well done to the whole squad for grinding out the win and showing character. Special shoutout to our joint Managers’ Players of the Match:
- Ethan 🏆⚽️
- Josh Penn 🏆⚽️
