🆚 Hednesford Active Lions 🔴
We dominated early, with excellent team shape—players holding positions superbly and wingers contributing tirelessly in both defence and attack. Crisp passing combinations created plenty of chances, and the breakthrough came from Chester’s superb individual run and finish.
At the back, we stayed organised and composed. Winning the ball in midfield often sparked three players surging forward together—the clever runs dragged defenders out of position, opening space for driving runs that proved highly effective time and again.
That relentless pressure continued into the second half with strong pressing leading to Joey adding another well-taken finish. The game grew more competitive in the closing stages as Hednesford pushed back hard, pulling two goals back in quick succession and briefly unsettling us. To their huge credit, the lads dug deep, regained composure, and held firm to see out a deserved victory.
Result: Win 💪
🆚 Cresswell Wanderers Bears 🟠
With the league leaders drawing earlier, we entered the match joint top of the group—a real incentive! The first half was a fierce battle against a talented Cresswell side who pressed aggressively, often swarming our players with two or three opponents. It took time to adjust, and we fell behind early.
Gradually, the boys adapted, finding smart passes into the spaces behind the high press and starting to dictate play, though we couldn’t quite equalise before the break.
Momentum carried into the second half, and Chester broke down the left with a brilliant finish into the corner to level things up. A momentary lapse allowed Cresswell to retake the lead almost straight away, but we stayed focused and demanded everything for the final stretch.
Naeto won the ball on halfway, powered through challenges, and unleashed an unstoppable shot to draw level once more. By now, we’d fully cracked their press—most chances were ours, with excellent passing out from defence and wing attacks creating opportunities. Chester added his second of the game with another clinical finish, before Joey rounded off a smart move from the edge of the box to seal a fantastic result.
Result: Win 🔥
