Solihull Moors vs Rushall Village U14 MJPL

U14s Match Report – Season Finale ⭐

A really good game to sign off our first season — the boys did themselves proud today.

We focused heavily in training this week on discipline and passing patterns, and it was clear to see how much that work paid off. From the first whistle the lads showed excellent shape, stayed disciplined in their lines, and restricted the opposition in midfield. They were forced to play backwards constantly, and for long periods we frustrated a very strong side.

They only broke us down with some sharp through balls when we tried to play the offside trap — a couple of small lapses in concentration, but the boys never dropped their heads and kept working hard. Going in 5-0 down at half-time actually felt like a victory in many ways. Considering the league standings and the quality of the team we faced, the performance and attitude were excellent.

At half-time we adjusted our plan — staying compact in the first half before pushing higher and pressing harder in the second. The lads executed it well. We created far more chances, applied pressure in forward areas, and pulled a goal back to make it 6-1. The second half finished 1-1 — a really pleasing response.

While the final score was 6-1, this result says far more about how far we’ve come as a team. To keep a side that has been winning by big margins to just a 1-1 second half shows real progress and character.

I’m genuinely very proud of every single one of them — not just for today, but for the whole season. This has been a successful first campaign. We’ve learned a lot about each other, about our strengths and areas to improve, and we’ve built something special together.

A massive thank you to all the parents for your incredible support throughout the season. None of this would have been possible without you. And to the boys — thank you for the hard work, the smiles, and the enjoyment you’ve brought every week. Seeing you laughing and joking after the game (with the KFC!) is exactly what it’s all about.

Well done lads. Enjoy the break — you’ve earned it! 🟠⚫
