Sporting KhalsaRecap
Another entertaining game on a Sunday afternoon against a established division 1 team and big test to see what the start of the league will look like.
We started slow and found ourselves 1-0 down within 5 minutes, struggling to get into the game under massive pressure from sporting, slowly we started to play our football and started to win some battles. Across the pitch, we then realised where the space was on the pitch by switching play and started moving the ball well but still
Under pressure from a powerful sporting side. We then hit sporting with pace and power on the counter attack with a through ball from Maurice for Steven to score, soon followed by a 25 yard wonder strike from Rio. Half time 2-1.
2nd half and another slow start out the blocks, under real pressure from sporting and struggling to get out half, Aaron working miracles in goal to keep us in front but sporting scored after we switched off for a short corner for 2-2 and quickly the.scored again to make it 3-2, but we never gave up and the counter attack was still a real threat . We then worked a great passage of play and Joe played a fantastic pass out to Jareal who beats his defender and scores from a tight angle. The game is then open with both sides trying to win, the defence working hard to allow us to play and Jareal wins a penalty that the sportin lg keeper saves, game finished 3-3.
A really great game to watch and proud of the whole squad for standing up to this level of opposition, competing and causing them all sorts of problems, to hear there coach compliment our football and play was great to hear. Onto next week when the league starts.
